I know someone semi-famous that should be a household name in a couple of years. That person is Scott Kazmir. Scott and I went to the same high school and are friends. Scott was signed to the Mets and just got traded for Zambrano. He now is pitching for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. If you don't know anything about sports, know this...They are the worst team in baseball. On ESPN they talked about how Scott was untouchable and how bad the Mets fucked up...BIG TIME. When I heard about the trade I thought "Man...they are mentioning my buddy on the greatest channel ever...ES-FUCKING-PN."
Now I am majoring in "Sports Writing/Broadcasting" I guess you could call it. I got a call from the local paper asking me for Scott's number. How they got MY number I still don't know. I hung up. I called Scott and we talked for a little bit...not about the fucking trade though. No one in their right mind would enjoy being traded from NY to Tampa Bay...no matter how much the Yankees own the Mets. I'm going to have a project in one of my classes to interview a sports player. Everyone will go straight to the football team of our college. No one gives a fuck. I asked Scott if he'd give me an interview and he said he would.
For the baseball fans I figure I'll post the completed interview in the Sports Forum. But this thread isn't about famous sports stars you know. Do you know anyone famous/semi-famous?

Anyway, hmm...can't say I know any famous people yet, but it's no big tragedy. Congrats on your interview. It's gonna rock everyone's socks off. And congrats to your friend for being a new rising star in the game.

Ask Scott if he knows of a guy named Bobby Korecky. He went to my high school and pitches for the New Britian Rock Cats in AA. They are a farm team for the Twins. Bobby is doin pretty good this year.
