Wow those are some sweet tats! Nice job to whoever did them. I like how they're different. Not many people would have Alice In Wonderland characters on their body. Well, not that I've seen. Cool idea. And you must have a good tolerance for pain. May I ask why you choose them? What meaning does it hold for you?

I have two tattoos. From a strangers POV they just look ordinary, most likely boring.
They have special meanings to me though.
A butterfly on my ankle, and a five petal rose on the back of my neck towards the left. Both are smaller tattoos. I loved getting them, it feels good. The slight burning sensation.

Idk how the Bill Kaulitz got the gigantic tats he did, that would be too much to handle for me, esp the one got over part of his ribs. Big threshold for pain I suppose.

My brother died a few years ago, and I had this done in his honor. He had the same nautical star on his arm, and the two flowers are for him and his friend that died in the same car accident.

Images of flowers with broken stems were once used on grave markers to symbolize a life that was taken prematurely.

There are two designs that I have ALWAYS wanted however; I am too much of a whimp when it comes to pain....Unless they go back to allowing you to get them whilst drunk I'll prolly never get them.. :-(

@Billie: Thank you

@Fenian: The pain really isn't too bad...it's like a cat with very hot claws scratching you. Afterwards, it felt like someone had punched me in the arm repeatedly for an hour or two.

But pain is only temporary.

typically, if you get a tattoo while REALLY drunk, your blood will be so thin that you'll bleed most of the color right out...ever attend a biker rally and witness those drunk late-night tat-sessions? most of those are so faded the next day that it was pointless to even get them

thanks [Big Grin] yeah, I've had a special attachment to Alice in Wonderland since i was a kid....i designed all the tats myself so that way, it's my own unique take on it....eventually, i'll have all the key characters on my back, as for the pain...i'm so used to it now, i almost fall asleep while getting them done

Since I have not yet figured out how to upload my pictures using the little program Blackout was kind enough to sent me the link to, I will defer to simple description of my tats & piercings:

A tat around left wrist: Butterflies linked together, so I won't try to do something I shouldn't

Left upper arm to elbow: A tree and me from my days living in the cemetary

Left Shoulder: Family Crest Owl holding 3 bloody arrows and an ermine Hunters for The Robes of Kings...

Left Ribcage & Back: Tarot Card The Tower with the man reaching for the crown lying dead at the base of the tower, my way of killing my father for his evil crimes to his daughters.

Three robed men around a flame: 3 family secrets that should have been told.

Right Shoulder: Arch Angel Michael bareing the double edged broad sword, the keeper of Law & Justice...

One pierced Nostril
One belly Piercing
14 ear piercings

Thats it !

it's really not bad at all, the healing process is the worst of it, so i would suggest getting it done around fall, that way it's healed before you go swimming in the summer

Belly piercing is not painful and it is true that the healing is a bit tricky. I am going to pierce my tongue to remind me to think about what goes into my mouth, and train my tongue to beware of what leaves my lips.

I had my Tongue pierced for ages, even chipped my teeth on it... then one fine day one of the balls came undone, and I swallowed it.

Now I only have eyebrow, and top of ear pierced.

I have my bottom lip pierced, but it messed with my Gums totally... and wasn't centered properly, which is the main reason I took it out.

Maybe its time for another piercing... Not sure where though, scrotum and nipple piercings don't do it for me...

OMG uhm yeah if you do not know, you should never ever ever get pierced with a gun. It is the most unsanitary method ever. Nor should you attempt to wear a stud as your first jewelry if it is still healing.

How this method is allowed to continue on and cause infection after infection among young women is beyond me. Granted these are minor infections but the possibility of much more nastiness is there.

My first piercing was with a gun and on the ear lobe. It was infected within 48 hours and I did proper cleaning. I then read up online about piercing and how studs prevent the healing process because they block the natural release of the fluids generated by the healing process. This was in the early 90's when body piercing was only just starting to become more and more popular.

I quickly went out and purchased a stainless steel loop and bead and my ear was healed within 24 hours.

I had my tongue pierced a few years later by a real professional. I no longer have either as I suddenly decided I did not like them and removed them.

Sometimes I miss them.
