OK. I am appealing to the users of the BBBB for their help in creating an awesome Gladys Ridgeford soundboard. I have isolated 108 various Gladys-isms in MP3, but I lack the tech knowledge to create a functioning soundboard with them. That's where you guys come in. Let's see what you guys can come up with. (Zach, are you listening?)

Oh my God KDK, how long did that take you? Pharris was in the other room playing random Gladys clips and I started laughing. I was actaully thinking of doing this a little while ago and making a Gladys techno song. Do you have all these clips as wavs before you mp3d them? Can you zip them on an ftp somewhere or send me a CD? What calls did you go through?
As to making a soundboard, I am not sure what software can do that.

The easiest and most popular way to do it is via Flash. Create an 800x600 grid, fill it with buttons linked to soundfiles, label them with the first few words of the file.

I went through "The Dog Beaters", "Hello, Motherfucker", "Are You Crazy" and "Gimme A Smart One". I didn't go through any more calls because I had over 100 clips. More than enough to make a kickass soundboard. Sorry, I don't have them as WAV's because I saved them all as MP3's. I used Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to isolate all the clips. A techno song sounds like a great idea. I hadn't thought of that.

I've looking into Flash. I'll take a stab at it. Even if I start work right away, don't expect it for a while. Also I don't think a board with 108 buttons would be good. I'll have to cut out some allos and those ka(something) sounds and other stuff although they're hilarious.

Yeah, I know. I just got a ton of clips so someone would have alot to choose from in making a soundboard. I never intended every clip to be in one board.

Personally, I like the sound effects "kapow", "kapap" etc. And of course you need the "yes", "no", "hello", "gladys" kinda clips. The ones pertaining to dog-kicking might not work so well on a soundboard. Other than that, have fun. Use what you like.
I downloaded Flash and tried it out for a few, but it's very confusing for a non-techie like me. It does have built-in tutorials, so I'll keep trying until I start to get an understanding of it. I'd love to be able to make Flash toons for my calls someday, so I'm motivated to learn it. I think a Flash-animated Kevin's Momma call could be great.

I'm going to go through the whole lot again and see which ones definately need to make it in. Maybe shrink the font and box size down so you can fit a few more, and I would keep the audio quality a little higher, once they get into the sound board they get a little raspy sounding.
Try and group certain things together to, like first group all greetings.. in orded.. 'hello' ect then responses in order... "how are doing" ect then all attacks or accusations in order, then all sound in order "goooo" "kaboom" ect... so that it is easy to logically pick a next response.
Very funny though I was laughing for a while. It's neat to hear Gladys in a soundboard. Thanks to all involved. Good work.

I think I'm gonna go through some of the other calls I didn't do yet (Green Jeep, Gimme A Smart One, Corporate Shit) to get more clips. Here's another idea you guys haven't mentioned yet...you could use some of your favorite clips as system sounds so you can have a cyber-Gladys computer. "Hello, motherfucker" for a startup sound. "Kaboom" for a program crash sound.

Well, the deadline for the 1st Annual Gladys Ridgeford Sound Board competition is less than 48 hours away. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to disqualify myself, after testing positive for restricted substances. Also, I have finished my soundboard and it is ready for action. When should we have it in? The earliest I can put it up tomorrow is sometime during the radio show because I have to work before then.....

OK, for Lonely's board, I like the Blackout's Box logo being in there. I like the colors. I like the dog. But he gave me no credit for getting all the sound clips in the first place.
And for Glyde's board, I like the colors. I like the fact that he used EVERY sound I put in that zip file. It's huge and will require me to memorise where some clips are, but it'll be awesome for prank calling. I am not too fond of the Gladys pic. It doesn't look like how I imagine she would look. I like the fact that it has the address to blackout.com and www.kdkprankcalls.com .
But both boards are great. Now send them to every site that has soundboards! And who should I do next? Hector? Kilty? Malcolm? Officer Dandell? Let me know.
