The DVD will be professionally mastered, packaged in a full size DVD case, and shrinkwrapped, in full color on the DVD, and case cover. This is no stomper sticker dvd! If for some reason you are in the stone age, and do not have a DVD player, a VHS tape will also be available.
The cost of the DVD will be approx $30 plus shipping. You will receive the DVD within 2 to 5 days of ordering it, as it is going to be shipped out automatically by a special automated system in a Bugs Bunny like factory.
If you wish to have your copy autographed or anything special included, you will have to order from a seperate link and the price will be $50. This is because the DVDs are going to be replicated and shipped from a factory, so to autograph it I will have to send you one of my personal copies.
The DVD will also be available for rental on NETFLIX! Yay! Please though, we ask you NOT to rent the DVD through netflix, but support Blackout's Box buy buying the DVD! thats way kewl, oviously this is not out of your pocket so somone is wanting to make money off you, and the whole netflix thing, how did you get that part? I know netflix does produce things themselves for rent, found this out by renting a documentry by accedent thinking it was hollywood produced . When is the release date for netflix, im already a member there ![[Smile]](smile.gif) will look for it and recomend it to my netflix friends and tell them where to buy it.

Well, the NETFLIX version might be a bit lame, because I may have some copyright problems with some of the music used in some of the parodies so I may have to do a re-edit for the NETFLIX version.
And yes Herbert, your pics will most likely all make it onto the 'fan art' bonus section.
As to the pre-orders, here's how I think it's going to work. For the first 100 people who pre-order the DVD through paypal for $30, you will get the specialized autographed copy straight from me (which is usually $50). You will also be able to send me a picture, and a message, and you will be included in the actual commercial packaged and sold Blackout's Box DVD!
You will have to hurry because I need to finish this fast, before the end of the month, so if you send $30 into my blackout@blackout.com paypal with a message attached or separate e-mail that says BOX DVD PRE-ORDER, you will make it in before I finalize the disc, and can send me a quote and a pic that you would like to appear on the dvd (if you so chose of course). Of course, be sure to include your shipping information. I will waive the shipping and handling charges on all pre-orders of the DVD as an extra thanks for your support.
Be part of the history of Blackout's Box before it blows up and I am unable to do stuff like this!

Please respond to the e-mails I sent you and be sure to send the correct size and resoultion jpeg and quote, or make your own 720 x 480 photoshop work with your own text or saying or whatever you want if you like and send that to me.

Ok, I am up to number 15 in the Blackout's Box DVD pre orders. Not bad for only a few days but come on peeps, give me some porps! We can do better.
Remember, the first 100 people to pre-order get to be ON THE DVD bonus menu with a graphic and a quote. You can send me a pic of yourself and a quote and I'll make you a page, or if you want, you can make your own picture if you're good with photoshop or some program like that.
IF YOU WISH TO MAKE YOUR OWN IMAGE: The image needs to be 640 x 480 or 720 x 480. Either will work as TV resolution is really only 500 lines anyway but that is the pixel size for NTSC digital video. Save your pic as a .jpg at at least 75% quality level or higher.
Here is an example, this is Firecat's image he made himself:
Note that his text and quote are well within the image. If you pre-order the DVD and are going to make your own screen, make sure not to put anything important or any text on the very edge. Give yourself about a 75 pixel border because TVs cut off some of the edge of the screen.

You shouldn't ave to do that. You should take a picture at a full res and just CROP to 720 x 480, or in actually, jst give me a 640x480. It's fine. I could get into all sorts of technical mumbo jumbo as to why DV pixels are 720 x 480 and it looks widescreen on a computer monitor but 4:3 on a TV.. it has to do with square vrs rectangle pixels. But lets not even get into that, Just send me 64 x 480 pics and it'll make it a lot easier for everyone since that's a standard screen rez and that works just as good. TV really only displays 500 lines of horizintal info anyway even though the digital data hold 720. Unless you are on the highest end digital monitor you are not going to see that res.

I read this message after I did my photo. Can I just send it 720x480 anyway, or should I crop it? Which would overall look the very best when the dvd is all set and done?
Keep an eye out in the Pictures Box. I have a couple pics done, but I can't decide which one I should include...

It really doesn't matter. A 640 x 480 will be bumped up, and a 720 x 480 will look more correct and be bumped down when seen on a TV. It's a matter of pixel differences. As long as it's one of those two size your pic will look fine. If it looks funny or doesnt work you will get an e-mail from me.

i have to say, blackout, the first time i had a chance to see some of your pranks and material i was in stitches. you have howard and spaceley to thank for that, because i wasn't aware of what exactly was going on deep down inside this crazy website.
i still remember the first movie i watched vividly. it was the quizno's corporate scandal. truly classic.
anyway, just thought i'd pop in to reintroduce myself. i'm jason, we met at howard's. it was a pretty wild night, but i'm sure you remember showing us a bunch of those sketches and pranks.
unique, funny stuff. i'll be buying a dvd, for sure. in the meantime, keep it up, man. hope to see the radioshow live... eventually.

Yes, I do remember. Welcome to the wild ride that is Blackout's Box. I'm sure someone will get you a fruit basket or kittens or something soon.
Oh, and I don't think you can see the radio show... unless you have some sort of super power that allows you to see streaming data. You can HEAR it though. Be sure to download Winamp and mp3pro and feel free to let me know if you would like to come and be a guest on the show itself one night.
Then again.. you could turn on a winamp visualizer plugin and trip out to crazy visuals that come from the shows wavefrom... so I guess you can SEE the radio show if you actually wanted too.

I don't think that it is a good idea to give Michael Biggins your money. In 2001, he stole our money that was sent to him for his CD's. He kept emailing us that he would take care of it for 14 months! We never got a single CD from him and he kept our money. We are firefighters in the SoCal area that just wanted to have some of his comedy for quiet nights at the station. Blackout is just another fucked up, ADD infected, promise breaking, loser in our opinion.

i want the dvd... but i dont have the money... i just got a new computer... and since im under 18, that means i would have to go through my parents and while still paying my computer off, they arent going to want me to use their credit card for more stuff... I hate being under 18... so is there any other way to pick it up? What stores will carry it?

I am going to mail half preview burns to people who paid early because it is taking me lnger ad I am considering going to dual layer disk. I have many new videos which are not up on the site and I have already hit DVD capacity. you could fine-tune the bitrate on the dvd to a little lower than 6000kbps and you could squeeze alittle more into it. Most dvd players are fine with bitrates between 4000 and 7000kbps

Yes I realize that.. thats what I am doing it is just the more you lower the bitrate the longer it takes to encode to get good quality that isn't all blocky.

from raunchy cassette to dolby digital? thats a bit of overkill, just do layer 2. im sure you shot some of it in dv, but the rest can be in layer2.

Don't sigh. Just ebcause I am in the shits doesn't mean your DVD is. While packaging is not done - a version of the DVD is - so all of you who pre ordered can get at least a first version of it with most of all the videos on it.
I'll ust mail you a sigle DVD. I am having problems with my mail now which s clogged with like 7000 mails so please private msg me.
Just to let you know it DOES exist - and a few peopel have seen it and really liked it... here's a screen shot:

Well, should those of us with (appearently) superhuman patience just wait until the packaging and such is done before we start asking for it? Because I'm not 100% sure I wanna just have a version with a blank jewel case that's possibly missing a few of the more crucial clips from it.

Alas, my girlfriend and I hardly ever get to see each other. She was gone the past two weekends...
We're going out tomorrow to see a movie,
and then Wednesday I am driving her to the airport and she'll be gone for a week for spring break...
in which time she's having her wisdom teeth taken out, so any "studying" you are referring to, is going to be
postponed for about a month ![[Frown]](frown.gif)
Then summer she's going back home, so I probably won't be able to see her
unless I drive 7 hours there myself and spend a couple days out of 4 months....

Well Herb, I had a long term BF in college, my high school sweet heart. And we made it through the distance. It was tough, but we were stronger for it.
We used to send each other little packages. We had no money. So we woudl do goofy stuff. Like, he may draw something (because it was SO bad) to make me laugh. He would record on his cassette conversations while he was driving up to me. He would send me a shirt so I had something that "smelled like him".
You would be surprised, but phone sex can hold its own for a while.
So dont get too upset. If the bond is strong enough, the distance will only be temporary.
