In reading The Power I've realized two things. One, I have always had the ability to "tune out", "turn away from" negative things when my frequency is higher than that of my surroundings. However up until a couple of years ago I did not recognize it. Thanks to you and Robin Williams I was smacked right in the third eye chakra, the world turned upside down and I retreated to fairy land for awhile.
I did not understand why people saw all the bad things all the time. I was labled as was one of the annoyingly optimistic people.
Unfortunately when I did start to recognize that it was a choice and not just my personality, I also recognized that because of my lack of understanding I had agreed to let others with a negative approach to things "walk all over me".
This put me into a tail spin. I developed a strong fight or flight response to everything....forget calm reasoning and understanding. Fear overwhelmed me or anger overwhelmed me (mostly fear). Not only fear of the knowledge but fear of how many emotions I had hidden to cover the fear.
And worry about slipping back into this mode of dealing with people/situations.
I love how "The Power" deals with "PETS". It makes much more sense this way, not easier mind you, just the "oh, I see now" factor.
Still have not finished it, I have to process each chapter for a week or so.

"The Power" book, while offering nothing new, is infinitely better than 'The Secret' which just skims the surface of things and mostly focuses on materialism.
It's very simple when you get right down to it.
all the world IS thought - thought IS energy... vibration, chi, consciousness... matter
Matter derives from thought not vice versa
You are individual and part of the ALL THAT IS at the same time.
Your inner thoughts and subconscious and you're self talk, visualization, and imagination, desires, and outpouring of energy create your world.
Karma is not "I'm gonna get you back" karma is not punishment, karma is understanding. Once you understand, it is erased, you move on.
Forgiveness and love instantly wipe karma when forgiveness and love come from your own inner true understanding and are not just forced passive things.
You are an eternal being, you are God incarnate exploring itself, and so is everythingelse, not just everyONE else, but everything.
nothing is NOT God.
Therefore, the most beautiful and horrible things you can imgaine are both ALL, are both GOD, are both you. Polarities allow the range - and you choose from the contrast.
hitler and the worst abusing molesters ever are God too. Get this in your skull. There can be nothign that is not God for God is all. There is only one thing and there is infinity at the same time.
Love everyone to the best of your ability and move towards that which you love and focus on that which you love. Do not ignore negatives, learn from them and allow them to enrich your being by choosing better positives from going through the negatives.
You create your reality, and your reality shapes the forms of your creations. It is a feedback loop, but the inner always has more power than the outer.
Light must shine first before it can reflect off mirrors. You are the light. What you perceive as your world around you are your mirrors reflecting your light.

You are the timeless being that created & perceives itself through those things, and you have the power to play or not play that game.
