I taught that short story to my juniors last semester. They read it silently in class, but they weren't so silent when they got to the end.

Yeah, I thought that looked familiar, I read that story too.. It had something to do with the naturalist writing style, so we read it..

I was actually kind of suprised about this story, but not because of the twist at the end.

What suprised me was that this story had nothing to do with slavery,mistreatment of blacks, or mistreatment of women.

So far everything that we have read was somehow meant to teach us about the horrors of discrimination..

So.. this was a delightful change.

oh yeah.. im talking about my lit class in high school hehe..
