Anyone know how to compress .mov files and still have decent sound and video quality? I just decided to buy a video camera today and it takes up about 8 MB for about a minute and a half of recording. I want to to get it down to like 3 or 4.

Welcome to the hell of compression software. You can do it with winowds media encoder for free.... or a free quicktime encoder, and you can go as far as spending thousands of dollars on some. I use a software called Procoder2 that came with my whole Canopus DVStorm2 editing card but it is STILL slow. I can get real time encoding but the quality suffers greatly and I have a P4 2.8 ghz with a gig of ram and ultra fast raid drives.
